Chess Fork Tips/Names I Use
June 30th, 2025
If I am playing white, and there is a king on e8, and a rook on a8, or a queen on d8 and a rook on h8, that is a “High-Value Fork” assuming you put your knight on f7 (forking the queen + kingside rook), or c7 (forking the king + queenside rook). If you do Nf7, it is a “Kingside High-Value Fork.” For Nc7, it is a “Queenside High-Value Fork.”
